JOHN GODBERS BOUNCERS - SCRIPTED ASSESMENT Bouncers - an ensemble by John Godber portrays lager-swilling lads, lipsticked, lacquered girls, in all gyrating to the beat of the dance floor; whilst out in the freeze nipping skulk the ever watchful, ever ready, ever observing to that extent brutish bouncers - Lucky Eric, Jud, Les and Ralph. And so begins the journey into the secrets of a Friday wickedness. John Godber along with Bouncers too wrote the acclaimed play teechers. Two plays which submit the actors to perform a variety of age, sex and stances; exploring the stage piazza with minimal props. Bouncers, implant within the 1980s, explore themes such as stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination. Godber undermines this earnestness with chit chats such as Lucky Eddies premier speech or a chorus of brotherly explanation. Beneath the buffoonery however, lies some really serious social comment, not so much the voiced comment but the mould of the desperately empty live s of all the credits, male and female, bouncers and clubbers. Both plays atomic number 18 similar to for each one other, not just in stage but also in textual context. A favourable quality end-to-end Bouncers was the character Les, also know as Kev and Cheryl. Kev I would recognise as a stereotypical lad, not that glossy with a fondness for lager. Les, a man of very small-minded dustup and as for Cheryl, a clichéd ditzy northern jeune fille with a good heart. Each character was interesting in their adopt right The whole cast came across as very evangelistic and portrayed a variety of ideas.

The ope ning night Bouncers introduced the lads and ! the girls, which smoothly ran into the opening scene at the hairdressers. With each character I saying a certain item that the sense of hearing could associate with. For sheath as Cheryl her top would be fastened up, however as a bouncer he would... I have seen,read and performed Bouncers myself, obviously on the GCSE list.
